The Ajodhya Hills of Purulia offer a very different terrain from Bengal's wetlands — a dry-deciduous plateau of sal forest, boulder-strewn hills and seasonal waterfalls such as Murguma and Bamni Falls. The forest trails here are excellent for spotting paradise flycatchers, owls, woodpeckers and raptors, and the region is home to a rich tribal heritage including the Chhau dance tradition. Wild Walk runs guided birding treks through the plateau along with visits to local tribal villages.
